Off to the Cloud Forest

I arrived at the hotel at about 6pm yesterday and went straight to bed after a quick shower.

I had a 5am start this morning as I left Quito, to stay in the Mindo Cloud Forest for a couple of days. On the way we stopped at the two monuments marking the position of the equator (neither of which actually do) and then we walked a 100 yards or so to the actual equator. :-)

The shot was taken looking back down the valley that we were driving up to the Bellavista Lodge where I’m staying. The rest of the day has been spent walking and taking photos. It’s been full on, and we’ve got a guided night walk through the forest still to come after dinner. At some stage I’ll be able to get some photos off the camera to upload … for the time being you will have to make do with the first extra...
