Leaves Everywhere
Autumn is well advanced and fallen leaves are everywhere in ‘The Policies’.
Although I work a lot in our grounds, I hesitate to term myself a gardener. We have quite a number of books on the subject and I refer to them quite often.
Apparently the latest advice is that fallen leaves should be left lying under the trees and shrubs. They provide a feed for the trees in the following years and also protect end annuals which will grow next year.
However, this does mean that the leaves which are not under the trees will have to be gathered up and placed there.
Well, I certainly have the tools to do that! Now I just have to do it.
