At the cinema, and a change of plan
A morning spent doing chores like washing, and making some progress in organising further necessary work to be done on the house. The plan was to meet my film friend H in the afternoon to see Gladiator 2. I sometimes agree to see a film that I don’t especially want to see, because H is keen, or there isn’t much to choose from. Because we like to go every week - which we’ve been doing for over 25 years. In the morning she texted to say she’d read the underwhelming reviews of Gladiator 2 and had been put off - would I like to see the Wild Robot instead? I was delighted. And it’s a fabulous film, with enough depth and meaning to be enjoyed by adults too. A robot develops human feelings of love and kindness, despite its programming, when shipwrecked on an island, where it get involved in helping and caring for some animals. It’s really lovely, much recommended. Though it also plucks at your heartstrings and makes you cry:)
I took my blip from inside the cinema looking out, because I liked the reflection of the neon decoration sited above the ticket/refreshments area. It’s an ugly place really, just a big old industrial warehouse, but somehow the various lights make it attractive.
