A day in the life

Mats Trondman is a scientist and professor in cultural sociology, doing his research since 1983, mostly on children and youth, school and class-issues. He's also a wonderful storyteller, musician, writer and poet. I've met him as a lecturer and storyteller and also recorded one of his hitherto unpublished songs. He's born in Kalmar and the reason I went to hear him at the small stage at Kalmar theatre was that he was doing a performance about moving around a lot and then coming back to where you're born. The performance included many stories about his early childhood in Kalmar and how it formed him, he also sang several of his songs with the aid of the two man house-band. I only found a long lecture where he speaks english at a conference in Malmö but I'm sure you can pick up why I like him after listening a couple of minutes.
A great evening. Ten minutes after I arrived home, so did the low-pressure area containing slush. It'll be interesting to see what the world looks like tomorrow.
