Every Picture Tells .....

TUESDAY

I woke up just after 7:00 am and pulled back the curtains to reveal a white world with more snow still falling.

After a quick coffee and getting dressed, I headed out to take one of the cars down to the garage in Rhuddlan for its annual service and MOT test. Thankfully, it passed.

Rather than arranging a lift, I decided to walk the 10 km back home “up in the hills,” as some of my friends describe the location.

Before setting off, I chose to support a local café for breakfast instead of popping into Starbucks, which is right next door to the garage. With  hindsight, I wish I’d gone for the more familiar option.

Once I left Rhuddlan it was a very enjoyable walk along the narrow, winding lanes with little traffic and flanked by snow-covered fields and trees. I was home in one hour fifty minutes which included a stop off at the village church.

Later in the afternoon, I drove over to Denbigh for a GP appointment. Then a mini shop at Sainsbury’s before heading back to Rhuddlan to collect the car and return home.

So far I've clocked up 18,500 steps - double what I managed yesterday.

The photo is from the outskirts of the village, near St Beuno’s Jesuit Centre. Just after the bend the lane is crossed by the Offa’s Dyke footpath.
