Twr Mawr
Last night's snow left a sprinkling on the car this morning but as I thought didn't amount to much where we're staying in Conwy. The main area with the yellow warning was to the east and the south of us. We decided to go across the bridge to Anglesey and avoid the likely trouble spots.
We could soon see that there was a good covering on the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) range. There's a good view from Beaumaris and we tried to use the pier for a shot but we weren't impressed. We went on to Penmon Point and as we approached we could see that the sky had now got some lovely texture. I've been lucky there before so was pleased to see this. You can see it in the extra.
From there we went back to Beaumaris and found a coffee and a piece of cake in a cafe before going on to Din Lligwy, near Moelfre, which is a Romano-British village (or what's left of it). It was interesting historically but not so much for photography. We carried on to Newborough Forest which is where you park for the walk out to the magical Ynys Llanddwyn and where the wonderful old lighthouse (built in 1854) stands. At this time of year the sun sets just to the right of the lighthouse and with a fairly clear sky it was too bright. We weren't to far off sunset so decided to wait for the sun to drop down. It was well worth the wait because as you can see, it coloured up nicely. Once the sun dropped it got a bit chilly for the long walk back along the beach to Newborough. I seem to have walked over 7 miles today and I think I should sleep well.
