Back garden

A before and after shot of the back garden. A row of shrubs at the top of the slope and lots of daylilies and a few other perennials along the bottom. We also cleaned up an area by the shed door, all that was there was Soloman's seal. Hopefully the Soloman's seal is gone, they have thick, fibrous root systems.

We did some work on the front garden too. We removed a multifora rose, fortunately it was not too big. Stephanie and I cut it back quite hard 2 years ago. The owner had cut down a couple of large burning bushes and one forsythia. We took the roots out for one burning bush, because it was where I wanted to plant a Japanese maple. The remaining roots we left, and I will let plants grow around them.

Tomorrow is garbage pickup day, I hope they take everything. I put the expired canned goods in garbage bags. One the Halifax Recycles website, it says to put the food part in the green bin and the cans in the blue bag. But soup is going to make a mess of the green bin. I will try to remember to call the city tomorrow and tell them that I am moving so there is extra garbage to be picked up today.

Two more sleeps. I was awake around 4 am again this morning and only got about 30 more minutes of sleep between 4 and 6. I'm tired tonight. I wanted to get more packing done, but just didn't have the energy for it. Most of the grocery items have been moved to the new place. Just have to pack the pots and pans, dishes and glassware.
