Still no Snow Here

The sun helps the mood when it is Baltic with temperatures below Zero. We were lucky that it shone out of a blue sky all day and there was minimal wind. I met up with a couple of friends that I hadn’t seen since July and it felt good to sit in the café with a fan heater blasting away at our feet.

Later, I did venture further afield to collect my new specs and it was still Baltic. It was tempting to linger in warm Specsavers but there were buttons to choose for the navy cardigan for youngest daughter and unbelievably that took ages. It was Sod’s law that there were not enough of the ones I really liked and I had to compromise. I still have a sleeve to knit, so I’m a bit ahead of myself.

It being Wednesday a lot of students are free from Lectures  in the afternoon ( although I remember having lab practicals and we felt hard done by)and  they were out and about in the sunshine in George Square and the Meadows.
I took my only blip of the day as I passed along the Square on my way to collect my glasses. The cars parked would have had to pay £12 for 2 hours which believe it or not is better than the old price of £9+ for 1 hour. Outside the Dower house if you are able to find a parking  space, it will cost you £14.40 for 2 hours. The moral of that tale is, visit me on foot!
