Above Kitley Caves
The hillside rises steeply above the footpath and a fresh fall of Beech leaves brought down by yesterday's winds has covered the gaps between the bushes and trees. The caves, beneath the hillside, ceased to be open to the public about 20 years years ago, but interestingly, contained Stone Age artefacts and bones of Elephant, Hyena Bear and Lion from the depths of time discovered during excavations.
