Sunbeams

Dawn

Today was the first frost of the season.  The farm was now a pale shade of green and the skies had been red as the sun rose, the clouds drifting off into the blue above.  A sunny and cold and crisp day.

T came in early to report back on yesterday's farmers' rally in Whitehall.  He said there were more like 40,000, more than 10,000 farming folk, all supporting each other; there was also a lot of deep anger and sadness and a feeling of determination that this would not be the end of the story.  The food banks around the area were filled with their produce that had been donated, the children rode their toy tractors and raced round Parliament Square at the start. There were many speakers, and not a trace of litter to be found on the ground afterwards. A lot of standing around as there were too many people to march.  On the train going and coming back other passengers were very supportive of them all as were the police.

Drove by the back lane to J's.  Supermarket in the afternoon.
