Patient #2

I had two appointments today. In the morning with my mother at her new (accessible) dentist’s clinic; in the afternoon with Chaiyya at the vet‘s for a check-up and vaccinations.

My heart was bleeding for both - but especially my poor Mum, who got pulled four teeth today (with more sessions to come). She always had tooth problems, but now dementia makes her forget to brush her teeth, and she doesn’t like the carers to do it - and I suspect they don‘t insist. So it’s time for dentures now.
