Llyn Idwal

It was a bit chilly overnight and there was a heavy frost this morning. We waited until the roads had a chance to see some traffic then we headed down the A5 to the Ogwen Valley and parked at Ogwen Cottage. John had messaged me before we left and reminded me to pack spikes and they came in very handy today, just to walk from the car park which was like a skating rink. The climb up to Llyn Idwal was slow going with the path being very icy but it was also very beautiful. My main blip is of boulders on the shore of Llyn Idwal with the maountains looking great in their coaing of snow. The first extra is Clogwyn y Tarw (I think) and I've also added a mono version of some walkers on their way on the path round Llyn Ogwen. We didn't go round today but made our way carefully back down the path, which as usual seemed much worse going down. Even with my spikes I had a couple of slips but thankfully, no falls.

We had planned to get the view of Tryfan from Afon Lloer but decided to give that a miss as we'd already worked quite hard. We drove back north and stopped in Llandudno where we sat in a pub and relaxed with a beer before heading back to our hotel. I've added an extra of the pier with a very dark sky behind it
