Fava the broad bean

I just worked out that fava beans are broad beans by another name, duh! There's also a condition called favism caused by them (oxalates). Please don't be put off, as it only affects a minority of people.

That aside, the rest of us should enjoy them. As well as being in season right now, so as fresh as can be, they are full of nutritious virtues like protein, minerals and fibre. Eat them.

Another salad mix using the same batch I made yesterday: it's well tempered so quite as good today. If you can be bothered to remove their outer skins, it's worth it for the vibrant colour you get, and you don't have to chew as much.
