Life in Sunny Dubai

Hanging Gardens

We had a drive out to the East Coast today on account of G's birthday. The first stop was a Lebanese Restaurant in Khor Fakkan where we ate a delicious meal. The portions were so big, we had to bring half of it home.

One of the reasons to drive to the East Coast was to visit the Hanging Gardens in Kalba, a new attraction that opened in April this year. Today's trip turned out to be a reccy. There's a very smart (Italian) restaurant at a high point, where the main image was shot. The extra is at the nearby Al Hefaiyah Lake, another new attraction which is still being finished. It was lovely driving the length of it, being the only car on the road, even on a Friday afternoon.

We were home by 6:30 with the whole evening ahead of us. Something I've been wanting to do for a few weeks is watch the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. It required some effort to find a platform that streams it and then to get around the technical issues with that, but we got there in the end. I can't say it is a movie I'd care to watch again, or maybe someone needs to explain to me what it is really about.

G says she's had a good day though. :))
