Run back to Villette.
Back to the cursed vintage light… The problem was now the fixing. The ceiling proved to be an impenetrable form of concrete. H’s hammer drill was making heavy weather of it. Managed to get some small wall plugs in but not happy about the strength. And the light maliciously electrocuted me! I had turned off the combined living room/kitchen area light circuit but it turned out the light fitting in question belonged to a notional “lobby “ area. It was in the part of the living room near the front door… luckily, French electricity is a puny 115 v …
Looked at fitting the wardrobe structure but again foiled by the impressive concrete that makes up the walls. …

More reconfiguration of the storage plans. And of the shelves.

H and F wanted some feet for their new Kallax. None in the In-Paris Ikea. Could get them in the retail park Ikea from yesterday- a car drive away! Luckily they found a set on a second-hand site and they set off on the RER to collect while I went back to Leroy Merlin. Picked up a proper, no messing SDS drill and set of bits. And a 3m curtain pole. The previous one was 10cm too short! And our 3rd attempt at the right connector to convert 40mm pvc washing machine drain pipe to a 32mm extension. And a big old plank. And then walked it all back 3km along the canal.

H made spaghetti carbonara - lovely.
