Broom?

I'm not quite sure why there were so many of these hand brooms at the entrance to the Afro-Caribbean shop on Great Junction Street. There must be something very significant about them?

This was the only picture I took as bulb planting in the park was cancelled. Not because it was so cold, but because they planted all the bulbs yesterday! Oh well, it meant we could retire early to the cafe for some planning, avoiding frosty fingers.
