Lisianthus
Today was much milder but so windy with lashing rain as Storm Bert announced his arrival. Luke had hoped to play golf with us today but we cancelled the booking yesterday as this weather is not great to be outdoors - besides I had too much to do today.
I was relieved I could run on the treadmill today rather than outdoors. I had some admin to do this morning, and then I started my packing - well I lay everything I plan to pack out on the floor and then tomorrow I will take another look at it and endeavour to put some things back (but probably will fail at that and add more things to the pile!) I have packed my camera bag which is the number one priority!
We had a light lunch in the village at the vegan cafe, the food there is excellent and it's a treat that Meriel, who is vegan, always enjoys when she comes to visit us.
After lunch I started making a nut roast for our lunch tomorrow. While I am making a roast leg of lamb for the carnivores, I needed to make something suitable for Inca and Meriel. It is a new recipe and while it was easy to make it was very time consuming, taking all afternoon - it looks good with onion, celery, red pepper, mushrooms, lentils and nuts in it. It is now prepared and in the loaf tin ready to bake tomorrow. I also made a vegan gravy by cooking various veggies in a broth, so tomorrow I can concentrate on the other roast dinner.
No time for outdoor photos today, and of course the weather was not conducive for outdoor photography, so this is an emergency blip of my lisianthus flowers which are so pretty.
Today is the 8th anniversary of my mother's passing. We celebrated her 80th birthday in March and she was so well, and then in November she died from cancer. She is still missed all the time.
