Für Elise

Yet another day when I’ve gone one step forwards and two steps backwards, with unexpected jobs appearing, like one of The Traveller’s jeans pockets developing a hole which required mending, followed by him discovering a large tear in his duvet cover, which it must be said is very old and had worn quite thin.

Having trimmed and overlocked his pocket, I then cut his duvet cover up into two large pieces of fabric, overlocked all round them and washed and ironed them. This has created some large pieces that can be used to make dressmaking toiles in future. 

By the end of the day I felt as though I was back to square one, but they were good jobs to have got done. I took myself up to the spare bedroom for a practice on the piano and had a lovely time getting to grips with the first few bars of Für Elise. I then watched a YouTube video of Lang Lang showing how it really should be played, and was utterly entranced. There’s no way I could put that amount of expression into it!
