The Waters are Shrinking…..

Compared with rainfall totals for October, this month we have had very little rain… A total of less than 12mm in my rain gauge so far. The waters in parts of the Taylor River are shrinking quite rapidly. This is very evident along the more shallow shingled areas. At the moment we do not need to cross the river via the bridge at Burleigh. The river bed is bone dry and I am able to take a short cut which takes off 500m from the usual five kms of my walk. I reckon we are in for a very dry summer.
