Life through the lens...

By ValC

It’s beginning.....................

It was fortunately a fine evening last night for the concert. Actually reached 15C.
Very well attended. They had sold all the tickets but there were one or two empty seats because of the weather.
In the first half the choir sang a medley of ABBA songs and a medley of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals.
Then the second half consisted of Christmas songs.
A very enjoyable evening and a really put me in the Christmas spirit.

A lady from Dementia UK explained about the work they do.
Most people know all about Macmillan nurses, but have you heard of Admiral Nurses?
I certainly hadn’t.
They are specialist dementia nurses continually supported and developed by Dementia UK.
They provide life changing support for families affected by all forms of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease.

They help people living with dementia stay independent for longer and support the people caring for them.

They also work in local community services, GO Practices, and NHS hospitals, care homes, and hospices.
They also run Dementia Helpline and Clinic appointments.
As more and more people are suffering with forms of dementia they are going to be needed more and more.
They get no government help and so evenings like this one are needed to keep them going.
Such a very worthwhile charity.

Decided to do some baking this afternoon and start writing Christmas cards.
All the ones which require letters have been put to one side.
I wonder how may people actually send letters these days?

MrC is just going loopy!
Leeds have just scored the winning goal in the last few minutes!
Now top!
