Baby Desert Bunny

This cute little guy was scared poop-less when I caught him flat-footed in my yard this morning. It's usually the doves whose nest is right above my patio glass door who play dead when I open it, but today they took off in a giant flutter which scared the bunny right off my patio off into the stones.

But he stood like a rock just staring at me, as a natural self-preservation response when he sensed a predatior was around. That would have been me, although I had no taste for rabbit stew and my camera shoots nothing to death!

I must be getting quicker on the trigger, or at least gretting quicker grabbing my camera because this summer I've gotten my first Gambel's Quails, roadrunners and now a bunny. The speedy desert trifecta!
