Mono disguise

The theme of someone or something precious to you immediately drew me to Spiko. My youngest's very dog eared and very dirty ( mono luckily disguises this ) frog. At one time it was a heatable, lavender scented 'hottie' but has long since lost the heat pad. She had this from a family friend as a Xmas present well over 10 years ago. He has been her comfort through very dark times and now sits on a shelf. He can't be washed as he is likely to totally disintegrate and she has firmly said Baby V is not to have him ( a hygiene risk I'm sure ;)) He has been an important part of her journey and during years in hospital was a constant in her life. I found a comfort in knowing when I wasn't there he was ( amazing the power objects can have). 
'A' has done a portrait of him to capture for the future but I'm sure the real Spiko will be preserved as long as possible
