Threads...
Not my first time photographing these colorful threads, but somehow I never seem to tire of it. And with thanks to LoisBiz who is hosting TinyTuesday this month for the theme of "contrasting colors" this week. I think these spools fit right into the theme. This also gave me a chance to try out the just-delivered Nikon 70-185 f2.8 lens that I rented for the dog event this weekend. It is noticeably lighter than the Nikon 70-200 and also more compact and I'm looking forward to giving it a good workout over the next week. If it performs well, I will likely add it to my kit.
So back to the threads...they came along with the old Singer sewing machine that was my mother-in-laws and her father's before that. Hubs is getting ready to do some repairs on it so he went online to find parts and ended up also learning some more history on the machine. It was manufactured in 1915 and was a "commercial" model which actually makes sense since his grandfather was a tailor. I doubt that the threads date that far back, but they are quite old and so wonderfully colored.
Did some grocery shopping this morning and hope that I have gotten everything I need for Thanksgiving. Although, if past performance is any indicator, I will make at least one more trip back for whatever I forgot.
The day started rainy but now the sun is out and it is a pleasant 54 F, so I will probably take Jax for a little walk soon before we lose the light. I really dislike the short days this time of year.
