High cloud with no wind
makes for a sombre day in
Yuma's old downtown

I was still sipping my coffee at 8:30 and just wasting time until I could leave the house. My goal this morning was to get downtown to the Yuma Art Center but it doesn't open until 11 AM.
I parked behind the Art Center where I could look up to its back wall with its interesting windows and painted exterior.
On Main Street I got some photos of the old Yuma Theatre and the Children's Museum, which is new to me. City crews were on location putting up Christmas decorations so they were blocking the views for me. I saw several scooters that had been left on the sidewalk. These are rentals.
I stopped to have a look at the 'fountain' that replaced the lovely Spanish-style fountain that self-destructed during covid. I find this industrial piece very unattractive. I think it is to represent the sluice box used in mineral extraction, but to me it just looks like an over-flowing cattle trough.
I found some lovely gifts in the Art Center gift shop and was soon on my way to my favourite Asian restaurant for lunch.
I am home for the rest of this rather glum day. It is so unlike Yuma. I can't say I like it at all!
