Misty Morning
Woke up to mist, so wandered about in my pj's, taking photos - these are the three almond trees across our Lane; I love the shape of the main one.
It was actually quite cold, good to come into a lit fire in a warm room, and a mug of hot coffee.
Went up to Monsaraz to give the bag of cot blankets back to Eileen - the Nativity figures are up. The sky is so clear, planets and stars shining brightly - Venus was almost startling, above the town. When we got home, after grocery shopping in Reguengos, Venus had gone down in the west, and Jupiter was blazing in the east. Going down to 5°C tonight. (But, up to 21° tomorrow, temperatures vary like that here.)
Gratefuls:
- finishing reading the whole Bible already this year; the last book, Revelation, felt so comforting (what to read the remainder of the year??)
- toast and avocadoes for tea; first time there have been Portuguese ones for a while (I refuse to buy ones from far away)
- Mike managing to attach the first skirting boards, by lying on a mattress (still can't kneel, though better all the time)
