Solem Quartet
and Shiry Rashkovsky
They were very proud because Shiry had had a piece of music commissioned to ‘celebrate’ the viola and be composed by a women composer, who then was made the Kigs first ‘Master of music’ and tonight was only the third performance of the piece.
It had five movements. I liked the beginning to early middle of the third movement and the ending of the fourth movement.
And it was a sweet relief when they came back on and played Mendelssohn :
It lifts and tilts and rocks
Cascades into deep pools
It trickles and bubbles, over smooth boulders
It flits and flys and dances
Scampers round in circles
It tiptoes in a surprise
You can tell where my mind wandered to! Haha!
Home and some serious playtime with my baby. She just needed attention and wanted to play, play, play. I was more than happy to oblige! :)
Freezing again tonight.
