New Zealand Flax

Also known as “Harakeke” and “Phorium tenax”. There are a number of different varieties coming into flower at the moment amongst the native planting along the banks of the river in the Taylor River Reserve.
I captured this image in an area where I had Maisie on her lead. She was anxious to keep walking and kept tugging on her lead as I did some photography.
A cloudy morning, good light for photography. The clouds finally cleared late morning.
