The bridge over the floating harbour
Walking to Fareshare, so pleased to see sunshine. This area is just behind Temple Meads station. The waterway was created in 1809 - it’s no longer a harbour, but you can get a ferry from the station to the city centre if you want. Also there are some houseboats along this part, though this one looks brand new and maybe not yet inhabited. The ones where people live are generally covered in pots of plants, bicycles, washing lines and so on. Unfortunately the area was designated for office blocks some years ago, and they just keep on building them, even though most are mostly empty. When what is needed is housing. Wouldn’t it be nice if all these buildings were affordable housing.
