Sally Mair - Loving life

Sunshine on Leith

Wednesday this morning so church first thing. A small congregation but none the worse for that.
After the service I helped change the altar frontal ready for Advent Sunday which in our church has blue vestments according to the old Sarum range of colours, many churches use purple for Advent.
The neighborhood Christmas lights event is on on Saturday and there is a musical event in the church at 2, so everything will be being moved then in any case. We have two Scottish violinists coming to play a concert for children. We have links with the charity Live Music Now who sponsor musicians to play in places which would not normally host such events. This will be a Scottish celebration for young children but open to all.
The church hall and grounds and neighbouring street will be full of the usual food, craft and community stalls and performances. We're singing carols at 1. 30.
It's a wonderful event, and lovely that our church is at the centre of it. Hopefully the weather will be good.
After church Ali and I went to Ocean Terminal for lunch. I was surprised how many shops etc were still there. I thought more had gone
We shared a pizza express pizza.
My blip is a view out of the carpark. The sky was so clear, you can see right through to the snow capped mountains of Perthshire (I think) in the distance.
