Southern Crested Grebe and Blipmeet

Such an action packed day again today.  Mauzee and I were delighted to be able to gate crash a regular weekly get together of several Wanaka photographers, three of them blippers.  I had met Spikes and MummaHen in Wanaka when we had our amazing blipmeet in 2015.  Maydaytoday2018 was also there and it was wonderful to see them all.  We met at the Hello Rangers Cafe and I was beside myself when I spotted a large platter of amazing cheese scones.  I was informed that they were quite famous and very delicious.  I can’t believe I didn’t weaken, however I’ve added an image of the lone scone that was left by the time we had said our goodbyes.  It was a rainy afternoon so we took ourselves off to the movies to see The Critic starring Ian McKeller.  Can highly recommend it.  Late this afternoon I took myself down to the lake to see if I could spot the Southern Crested Grebes that are nesting there at the moment.
