The McLaughlins are here. However, Jim is also having to work, so he was left in the house to his tickets and burndown charts and we went for a pootle round Melrose in the morning and then to Monteviot in the afternoon, with stops for Nancy’s excellent butternut chilli soup and a pint/scampi fries in The Cross Keys in Ancrum.

Later Nancy made a very enjoyable Japanese inspired meal, including steamed sea bass and pickled arrowroot. Delicious.
