Frosty Dawn
You know when the sand on the beach is hard with frost that it’s going to be a cold dip and a quick one- certainly no more than 7 minutes. We got dressed in record time and I decided that it was cold enough to think about getting an Uber home but when I saw the price quoted as £28 I took my chance on the bus as usual. My heated gilet cut my shivering to a reasonable level- it’s a bit of a life changer.
A hot shower and vigour restored, I took a load of ‘stuff’ to the local charity shop. It still felt bitterly cold despite the sun trying its best to warm the world up. The frost on the Meadows grass has stayed put all day and I’ve been forced to put on the heating in the house earlier than normal. I hope this extra cold weather is not going to haunt us until springtime. Rachel Reeves will be hoping that too so that no pensioner dies because they can’t afford to spend money on heating.
I met up this afternoon with a friend whom I used to see most mornings in Söderberg but who has now got a new job and no longer in this area for an early coffee. I do miss her chat and is partly why I don’t go to Söderberg so regularly now. We caught up on news and I am looking forward to meeting her again sometime soon.
