Richard is nuts

It was his idea to rent this gallery for a week in the middle of Summer. He is a potter and belongs to a group called the 'Bucks Potters'. He saw this gallery for rent weekly when he was visiting St Ives last year and decided that if he could get enough artists interested he could fill the gallery with art. He asked four of his friends from the potters' group if they would be interested. They were. Then he decided that the walls of the gallery would be too bare so asked me and another friend who takes photographs to to try to fill the walls with our work. There are also some textiles and paintings filling up wall space too.

The rest of the story is shown here in these images. The gallery is up one of St Ives' many alleyways so we don't always get people passing by but we have had enough people coming in to admire the work and even to buy a few pieces.. We have all said since the beginning of the venture that we would be aiming first to have a good time and then selling any work would be a bonus. My photos are in the corner shown on the small image on the right.

We have had a brilliantly nutty time and I'll let you know how much of a bonus we get at the end of our week which will be next Wednesday.
