German Sunday Laws.
Over the years, I have got to like Germany's ban on Sunday shopping and the requirement to treat it as a day of rest - no lawnmowing or noisy activity allowed. I think nowadays, if you are discreet and use a tumble dryer, you'll get away with using the washing machine.
Car washing is practically banned even on private property at any time, never mind Sundays, so I was a bit surprised when Angie told me a few months ago that the local DIY car wash was open on Sundays. As my car is in the garage for tyre change tomorrow wanted to give it a good clean & so packed Luna in the car for her morning walk & then went on to wadh the car ..... or not.
The sign says: due to the Sunday laws, they are only open from 12:00-18:00! The place is on an industrial estate with no housing or churches anywhere near. If they banned it totally, I would accept that, but why such ridiculous hours?
