Out With the Old..

..unfinished projects from the closet. It is time to complete one!

But which one? Forget the unfinished knitting, the unfinished quilts...there are so many... It is all too intimidating.

So perhaps a needlework project? There are three that are "finished" ..but not quite. Two are ready to be sewn into cushion covers, one is ready to be stretched...So there is some encouragement there that progress can be made...

But of course, there are several still in the works. Feeling brave, I dug out one of those -  "Lilies", the companion to  "Nasturtiums" (above). Brilliant colours, oranges reds yellows and golds. Love those colours..

But of course, there is always a reason projects like that get set aside for years..and I soon discovered why this one had been abandoned... These needlework projects, depending on the gauge of the canvas, use one, two or three strands of the yarn. And I had used two for part of it and then realizing my error, and rather than tear it out and start again, I had just switched over to three! Not great.

And worse than that? I had made a one -row error while working the pattern on one side of the canvas..and..of course, when that side eventually meets what I have completed on the other side, the pattern won't match! Geez! Much creativity will be required to make that work!

I love a challenge, but really?
