Life is a Challenge!

SILLY SATURDAY HAS COME EARLY - IT'S FUN FRIDAY!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Well, what a lovely surprise we had today when Mei and her son, Zach, arrived at about 2.30 p.m.  We saw that Zach and Mrs. HCB were having lots of fun putting the Nativity Set on the mantelpiece, and it does look very good and we must admit it is beginning to feel a bit Christmassy now in the HCB household - the Christmas tree will soon be brought down but not until 1st December, Mr. HCB says, but that’s only a couple more days!

We were all tucked up in our special bag in the hall, but as soon as Zach saw us, he wanted to get us out and play, and of course, we were happy about that because although we have lots of adventures with the HCBs, they don’t play with us much like Zach did - guess they are too old now to do that!

Zach, who only started school in September, was eager to show us his certificates, so after we had all had a drink and some biscuits - and some of us had more than one - we had a look and you can see Zach in the bottom right shot.

Zach’s Mummy is from Hong Kong and is teaching him to speak Cantonese so Zach is already bi-lingual.  You might be interested to know that this afternoon, we have all learned to say One to Ten in Cantonese, so Mr and Mrs HCB were entertained very well and I guess that makes us bi-lingual too!  JD, was trying very hard to learn, but kept getting into trouble for saying it in English.  However, he eventually managed it and we all gave him a clap!

Zach insisted on sitting us all on the settee and was happy to have his photograph taken with us - he especially liked Leighton, so he sat on Zach’s lap.  However, we were not so keen when Zach decided that the next part of the game included us all being thrown off the settee into the water - all pretend of course, and you can see us all in disarray in the bottom left shot in the collage.

By the time Mr and Mrs. HCB waved goodbye to Zach and Mei, they were feeling rather tired - having a 4 year old with a very vivid imagination for the afternoon and learning to speak Cantonese is not so easy when you are getting older, so they told us.

Zach wanted to take David the Dragon home with him, but was persuaded not to, because we told him that David would miss all his friends - and in any event, he already has Laura Lamb and Kanga, the Kangaroo, at home - we think they live underneath his bed so there probably isn’t room for many more of us under there!

It was too good a chance to miss, so you have Silly Saturday on Friday - so perhaps we should call it Fun Friday!

We can’t go without telling you to BE KIND - and try and remember once December is here to do some R.A.C.K.s short for Random Acts of Christmas Kindness - even just ringing someone to have a chat with them would be good - especially if that person lives on their own!

With love from us all and of course, from Zach and his Mummy!
