Life is a Challenge!

IT'S GOING TO BE A LONG AND BUSY DAY...

...so I thought I would get my Blip done early so I don’t need to worry and there may not be many comments today!

We are both off in a few minutes to help with a special Christmas Arts and Craft morning at Church when any children can come, not just our Church children.  They have been told to “wear clothes that you can get messy in” so that sounds as if it will be great fun!  I am helping with sewing - not that I am much good at it, but I will do my best - and Mr. HCB will be helping in the kitchen and will probably be in charge of the dishwasher, a job he is particularly good at!

After doing their crafts, there will be a lunch for the children and parents - and it’s all free.  Again, it is good that we can do this work for the good of the community around our Church and it is always enjoyed by children and parents alike.

Then it will be home - possibly for a quick nap - before going out again this evening for a Christmas Craft Evening with ladies, mostly from our Church - but I’m sure this will be a more “gentle” evening - and in fact, we haven’t been asked to wear clothes to get messy in!  I’m sure that will be a good evening too and there will be snacks and even mulled wine for those who wish to partake.

These lights in our back bedroom window stay on all year long, although obviously don’t come on until much later in the summer.  This window looks out onto the large roundabout at the back of the house and we leave them on for Gill, a friend of ours from Church, who lives a bit further on, works as a Nurse giving End of Life Care in the Community.  Gill said a couple of years ago that when she sees these lights, especially when it’s late at night and she has had a hard day, she knows she is almost home.  We decided that we would keep these glowing especially for her - and in fact, for anyone else who happens to see them - so that’s what we do.

They are, of course, Advent Candle lights, and Advent starts tomorrow, 1st December - but we are glad that we can “light the way” for anyone who is out late at night and especially for Gill and others like her who do such sterling work in the Community.

Hope you all have a great weekend.  M xx
