Every Cloud…

As I mentioned the other day, our central heating boiler has broken down. An engineer is coming to (hopefully) fix it on Monday.

Whilst not having hot water is an inconvenience and the house is cold at least we have a gas fire in the lounge. We had it installed quite a few years ago. The original fireplace had been blocked in and wallpapered over and the lounge lacked any focal point. So we had that opened up and installed the fire. We don’t use it much as it’s supposed to be rather inefficient and not needed when the central heating is on. However, it being the only warm room has meant M and I spending more time in here relaxing and it’s been very cosy, restful and rather romantic, especially late afternoon when the day is fading into darkness.
