Christmas tree festival
Dull and damp first thing. I drove Mrs M down to the ferry - she's spending the day with Daughter One on Mull.
Later on I drove to Lochawe, a village on Loch Awe as might seem obvious. The amazing St Conan's Kirk is situated here, on the bank of the loch, with the railway line squeezed in between. Worth a look at the website - https://www.stconanskirk.org.uk/
Every year they hold a Christmas Tree festival in the church - this year they had over 70 trees of all shapes and sizes, some real, some imaginary. On the way out you're asked to vote on the best tree. It's a difficult decision as they are so very different. I eventually chose this one, not because of its looks, but because of its message. My extra today is a general view inside the kirk.
On the way home I called in at a friend's nursery in Taynuilt. Don't think he gets all that many customers, but he enjoys it!
Quote of the Day: 'They've got plastic Christmas trees now. They're hard to tell from the real aluminium ones.' - Milton Berle.
