..to Light

The annual advent procession as ever was a showpiece with the nave full. This years service was based on 8th century Advent Antiphons combining the 7 Antiphon days into one service. In particular it included the wonderful advent hymn O come, O come, Emmanuel.

Held in virtual darkness, each member of congregation held a lit candle and, as usual but in a different way the choir sang from various places all around the cathedral including the central aisle forming a procession with and clergy including the bishop.
