Oggy's surprise party.

Oggy turned 30 on Thursday and his wife Ellie has been planning a surprise party for tonight for weeks.

This morning, one of Ellie's two sisters died suddenly at the age of 39.

She had to tell Oggy about the party and they decided that as there were some people were travelling to it from quite a distance that they should still have the 'do' - not to mention all the preparation and food that was ordered.

Ellie didn't attend, obviously, and I spent the night thinking how awful she must be feeling and how sad that she couldn't be there to have fun after all the organising that she'd done to bring it together.

They've both been working long hours lately and were very much looking forward to their holiday in Cyprus, starting on Monday. That has had to be cancelled too.

Everyone at the party had been briefed and made sure that Oggy still had as good a time as possible, under the circumstance. And every single one of us will be there for them over the coming days.

Ellie's birthday is coming up in the next couple of weeks too, so finger's crossed the funeral will be done by then.

Such a sad time, especially when we've all been gearing up for a good old knees up. :-(
