From the sofa.........
TUESDAY
It had been a cold night and when I pulled back the curtains this morning I was greeted with distant views of the snow-capped mountains of Eryri some 40 km away.
Although we can't see Yr Wyddfa from home, Carnedd Llewellyn, the second highest peak in Wales at 1,064 m, and the other peaks in the Carnedd Range were clearly visible in the distance with the rising sun picking out the white peaks and ridges.
At 8:50 am, and I headed out to Denbigh for the results of my PSA test. Thankfully, everything came back normal for my age, which was an expected but still a relief.
After leaving the surgery, I decided on the spur-of-the-moment call in at the neighbouring Saunders and Schwartz Opticians. As luck would have it, the optometrist, Richard Saunders, had a free slot and could fit me in right away. So, I ended up having the whole package — vision test, eye exam, retinal scan, photographs, pressure test, eye measurements etc. — and afterwards signed up for some new glasses.
The afternoon was a bit quieter, spent waiting for a delivery, but I spent an hour outside enjoying the sunshine Once the sun dipped lower, though, the temperature dropped rapidly and I took a walk around the village before settling in for the evening.
10,000 steps today.
