Last Day on Ilha Grande
It was lovely weather and we had our morning dip in the sea and went for breakfast just after 8 am.
We were still knackered from the hike yesterday and decided to have a relaxed day lying in the sun.
And so we did - until the afternoon when we headed off to Abraão by foot.
I love the track to the village - after the rain it was nicely washed and some kind person had cut some of the branches.
But it is definitely not a path you would go in the dark.
I noticed that I had a rather weird sunburn.
The front of my legs looks like someone had poured boiling water over them.
Part of my belly too!
So weird after having been for 2 weeks in the sun AND using factor 30 sunscreen!!
In Abraão I went to the chemist to get some burn relief.
A few minutes later we met our Argentinian neighbours who had experienced the same and were soothing their burnt skin with the same product.
They were as puzzled as I was.
Neil interestingly had only a bit of red skin and he is usually the one who burns!
I felt like an immersion heater and was pretty sure when I put my feet in the ocean I will raise its temperature!!!
We went to the beach cafe for a coffee and a caipirinha then decided to go to Restaurant Canoe for dinner and shared a huge fish platter with extra fish for Neil.
It was lovely.
We stuck to the beer in the restaurant and called Marcos to pick us up before 10 pm.
Back home I crashed right away.
Crazy Selfie from the beach of Abraão
