This and That

This is the unwelcome wet home coming from my Book Group meeting this afternoon. The book we discussed was These Days by Lucy Caldwell and is a novel set over 2 days in Northern Ireland during a WWII German blitz on Belfast. We were all amazed how little if anything we knew about this event which decimated the dock area in the north of that city.

Before the book group meeting I managed to cross off some of my ‘to do’ things I’ve been putting off. I even managed to contact British Gas for an online chat about a strange electricity reading that was far too high and wrong. Fingers crossed that everything is sorted now. 
A reduced number of Christmas cards were also dispatched leaving me feeling that I had at last made a start on  Christmas. 

I  chatted to the main man  working on the balconies above me and almost did a jig when he told me the scaffolding would come down at the end of next week - no Christmas decorations needed now to adorn the structure. However I will believe it when I see it.
