Grumpy Old Man

Science and Susie

Dull again today - and it got worse.  More photo work this morning, then after lunch I walked down to the Corran Halls - my Blip today - for the u3a Science Group meeting. Today was the second of two talks on the Ig Nobel prize winners - supposedly funny, but occasionally interesting!

We had a committee meeting of the Photo Club this evening, before our usual meeting, so had to be there for six. The talk afterwards was by the leader of the Oban Mountain Rescue Team - very interesting and very many pictures. I found it hard to sit on the uncomfortable chair for so long!

Poor little Susie, our smaller cat, is not very happy. She's been suffering from arthritis for a while, but in the last couple of days she's been off her food and has  tried to find places to hide. Today she went outside and stayed out in spite of the rain. I brought her in when I came home from the Photo Club, but she immediately tried to go outside again. We're worried that the end is nigh. I'm taking her to the vet's tomorrow to see what they think. She is 15, so quite elderly for a puss.

Quote of the day: 'Cats are mysterious folk. There is more passing in their minds than we are aware of.' - Sir Walter Scott.
