CPP

Campaigning for the elections on Sunday had taken over Phnom Penh. These are supporters of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP). They are the ruling party and it's pretty much guaranteed that they will remain in power whatever happens. A lot of the ministers were Khmer Rouge leaders so it's saddening that the corruption and disregard for the suffering of the poor will continue.

It was particularly potent as we visited S-21 (a prison where prisoners were tortured) and then the killing fields that morning. I don't think it's possible to put into words how I felt looking at the skulls of the victims and treading on mass graves.
