Book Club

A significant day for me as it was the first time I attended the Chelmsford Book Club monthly meeting. Held at the Two Brewers pub in Springfield Rd.  I pulled pints there in the evenings and weekends more than 40 years ago.  It looks very different now.  There were sixteen of us for the meeting and conversation flowed as we chatted for a couple of hours about the chosen book - 'Daisy Jones and the Six' (Taylor Jenkins Reid) which I'd finished listening to earlier today while walking the woofer.  Tbh, I'm not sure I'd have persevered with reading it, but, as an Audible listen, with a different actor for each character, it was absorbing, and it turned out to be a good book for discussion.  I'm very happy to have found such a nice group of people to chat with once a month and already looking forward to January's meeting when the book discussed will be 'Things in Jars' (Jess Kidd).
