Turkeytail

Looking at images online, turkeytail fungus seems to vary a lot.  This I'm pretty sure is it, though it's often more colourful.  The extra - quite unlike and not taken today - is definitely also turkey tail.  So are there a number of varieties, or do they grow differently on certain woods and in different circumstances?  I just don't know..

Still, I'm pleased to have another fungus in my journal for this autumn/winter, I've seen comparitively few this year.

So that was my walk this morning, none of it far from home.  We haven't seen the sun today but when I was out it was almost bright at times.  This afternoon has just been cold and drizzly.
