Magical..

..and miraculous considering the biblical rain that came down late in the afternoon!

We set off in said rain experiencing a considerable amount of flooding on the roads. We went for a fish and chip tea and decided that if the rain didn't improve we wouldn’t continue to Harlow Carr for the ‘Glow’ event we had booked for 6.30pm.

The forecast at lunchtime said the rain might ease at 6.00 pm and it did! When we arrived at Harlow Carr it had stopped altogether. Perfect timing.

Lovely light displays and music as usual, well worth it despite the earlier qualms and we will probably book again next year.
I’m sure this is a similar shot to the one I posted last year but the colours reflected in the lake are wonderful. More water in the lake than we’ve ever seen and the stream was gushing in the valley.
Of course I took lots of photos so I will add a Flickr link later.

In the morning I was helping out with two classes from the village primary school making various decorations at the Congregational church, including some nativity scenes made using mosaics - more of that tomorrow.

Another busy day in a busy week.
