Moggy & Chips
We went for a Sunday drive on a Friday to beat the rush and possible storms. We ventured west towards the Yorkshire Dales but didn't enter the official park. We passed through Bedale, Middleham, Leyburn, Catterick amongst others. We used the back lanes, some that were new to us.
It was as we passed through Middleham I spotted this 1972 Morris Minor van outside a fish & chip shop it was advertising. It must be one of the last sold, possibly ex GPO as they requested they were made a couple of years after most Morris Minors had stopped production. Matilda was registered in 1970 and as a Traveller she was one of the last 1000 or so made. It had to be Blipped!
Middleham is a market town near Leyburn and is famous for all the horse racing stables, there are at least 12 licensed training establishments in the area. Some are actually in amongst the buildings and groups of horses are often seen going through the streets heading in from the gallops.
